Yong and Tai serve on the eldership board of the church, and Tai oversees church office functions and provides crucial administrative support to pastors and ministry leaders. Tai does bookkeeping and Mission support for all the daughter and affiliated church throughout the world. Yong responsibilities and leadership include master planning for the church finance, facilities maintenance and upgrades for both Bellevue and Mercer Island sites, legal, ministry expansion, legal oversight and church human resources and yearly budgetting. Yong also is the ministry leader for the Snack Ministry on Sunday and sometimes special events that need high food production. They both have been with our church from the start of birth of our church in January of 1988 (35 years ago). Yong is now retired from a lead engineer position from Boeing in 2020 and is now working part time in the deacon position.
Born to a Chinese family in Laos, Yong’s family left Laos due to escape communist regime and spent his teenage years in Bangkok, Thailand. He is a retired lead engineer at the Boeing Company, graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineeri in 1985, and speaks English, Mandarin, Laotian, and Thai. Tai is from Thailand and holds a degree in business administration. They have one daughter Charis who is a nurse living in Gilbert AZ. For relaxation, Tai enjoys gardening and is an avid gym goer and Yong enjoys playing golf, remodeling, traveling, and is also a history buff.
